For kids, nothing is more fun than playing in water during the hot summer months. Memorial day weekend marks of the beginning of water fun and the season opening of several water parks and aquatics centers. Check them out!  Aqua Adventure Waterpark - Fremont (Opening weekend: May 22-23)

Day pass: $5  Raging Waters -- San Jose Raging Waters is northern California's Largest Waterpark and has 23 acres of water fun. Season pass: $55.99.  The Rapids Waterslides at Shadow Cliffs - Pleasanton (Opening weekend May 29)
The Rapids Waterslide is located at Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area in Pleasanton. It has a four-flume waterslide, with ample parking and picnic grounds. The waterslide is set apart in a special area, with a side fee, from a buoyed-off swimming area at Shadow Cliffs Lake. Try both the slide and swimming in the lake!
